MACBETH - Actor Audition Details

LHUCA is now seeking actors for a limited run of MACBETH by William Shakespeare.

All acting roles are paid roles.

Only seeking actors 18 and older. 

Currently seeking Non AEA actors local to the Lubbock area.

Theatrical components of the Hub City Renaissance Faire will be produced and directed by Anna Hogan.

SUMMARY

We are looking for a strong, small ensemble of actors who can confidently tackle a variety of lead and supporting roles. 

This event will be staged in a three quarter thrust setup in close proximity to the audience. Actors should be prepared to perform in a non-proscenium, immersive space without microphones.

This event will tech from 8 AM - 12 PM and run from 1 PM - 7 PM on Saturday, August 25. Actors must have completely open availability this date.

Actors of all ages, ethnicities, and gender identities will be considered, and this event will be cast with identity conscious actors in mind.

WHAT TO PREPARE

Actors should prepare one contemporary and one classical monologue from a play. These monologues should be memorized for the audition.

Audition slots are only 5 minutes long, please ensure your content fits within this time frame.

DATES & DETAILS 

• July 10  - August 25: Blocking Rehearsals/Runs: 18 rehearsals occur on predetermined dates from Monday, July 10 - Friday, August 25. Rehearsals will be outside of normal business hours.

• August 25: Tech/Dress Rehearsal, Performance, Strike: Call time for actors is at 8 AM, Performances will start at 1 PM and end at 7 PM. A strike of the technical, backstage, and scenic elements will occur after the performance. Stipends are delivered at the completion of strike. 

All rehearsals will take place at the LHUCA Icehouse and Firehouse Theaters. The performance will take place at the LHUCA in Firehouse Theater in Lubbock, TX. 

Actors are responsible for getting themselves to and from rehearsals and performances. Please do not submit if you have major conflicts during the rehearsal or performance period.

BOOK YOUR AUDITION

Auditions are by appointment only on June 30 - July 2. Time slots will be assigned to you when you submit your application. Auditions will take place in Lubbock. The location will be communicated on receipt of your application.

AUDITION DATES:

• Friday, June 30 (5 PM - 9 PM)

• Saturday, July 1 (11 AM - 4 PM)

• Sunday, JULY 2 (2 PM - 6 PM)
